01

Customer Complaint and Possible Causes

The customer reported that the refrigerator compartment was too warm while the freezer maintained the correct temperature. This type of problem can be caused by a faulty evaporator fan, ice buildup, blocked air passages, a defrost system failure, or an electronic control board issue.

02

Diagnosis and Findings

During our inspection, we found that the refrigerator temperature was around 60°F, while the freezer was cooling normally. We checked the evaporator and air passages for ice buildup or blockages, but everything was clear. The refrigerator fan was running, but not at its normal speed, resulting in poor cold air circulation. Voltage testing showed that the 24V fan was receiving low and unstable power from the control board. Further testing confirmed that the control board was faulty and could not properly supply power to the fan.

03

Repair Performed

We replaced the defective control board with a new genuine Viking OEM control board. After installation, we checked the electrical connections and confirmed that the fan was receiving proper power and operating at the correct speed.

04

Verification and Outcome

After restarting the refrigerator, the fan began operating normally, and cold air circulation was immediately restored. The refrigerator compartment started cooling down as expected, while the freezer continued working properly. The Viking refrigerator’s cooling system is back to normal operation.
