The problem
Burning smell and breaker trips immediately after turning on
The repair
Replaced control board and main wire harness with OEM parts
The result
Everything works properly after the repair
Customer Complaint and Possible Causes
The customer reported a strong burning smell and noticed that the circuit breaker tripped immediately after turning on the range. This started happening right after a cleaning session where a spray cleaner was used on the appliance.
Diagnosis and Findings
During our check, we found that the control board and a section of the main oven wiring were severely burned. The short circuit most likely happened because cleaning spray got onto the live power contacts.
Repair Performed
We pulled out the damaged components and installed a brand-new OEM control board along with an entirely new OEM Viking wire harness for the unit.
Verification and Outcome
After finishing the wiring and board replacement, we tested the range and confirmed that everything works properly without tripping the breaker.
