The problem
Stopped cooling with display showing 66 degrees in both zones
The repair
Replaced the failed evaporator fan
The result
Both zones resumed proper cooling and temperatures stabilized
Customer Complaint and Possible Causes
The wine cooler stopped cooling entirely, and both zones were showing a temperature of 66 degrees on the display. This kind of issue usually points to airflow problems, dirty condenser coils, or a failed cooling component.
Diagnosis and Findings
We checked the display and confirmed both zones were sitting at 66 degrees. When we inspected the unit, we found the condenser coil covered in a thick layer of dirt and dust, which had caused the compressor to overheat. We also ran secondary checks and found that one of the evaporator fans was not working at all.
Repair Performed
We replaced the failed evaporator fan with a new one. Thankfully, the compressor and the main cooling system were not damaged by the overheating.
Verification and Outcome
After replacing the fan, we observed that both zones began cooling properly again and the temperatures started to stabilize.
