Customer Complaint and Possible Causes
The customer told us that the upper oven kept stopping during cooking and showed an E124 error code on the display. This kind of fault usually happens when the door latch system cannot properly detect that the door is fully closed.
Diagnosis and Findings
We checked the entire electrical circuit and the physical condition of the door switch. Testing the micro-switch and control board signals showed a normal reaction to door movement. However, we found that the door hinges had weakened and could not push the door closed with enough force for the latch system to register the closed position.
Repair Performed
We removed the worn door hinges and installed new door hinges on the oven.
Verification and Outcome
After replacing the hinges, we tested the electrical circuit and micro-switch signals to confirm everything worked normally. Follow-up feedback from the customer a month later confirmed that the oven was operating properly with no further issues.
