The problem
Doors not sealing, internal condensation, and freezer snow
The repair
Replaced both door gaskets and cleaned condenser coil
The result
Eliminated moisture and snow, restoring normal cooling
Customer Complaint and Possible Causes
The customer reported that the refrigerator doors were not closing completely, along with internal condensation in the refrigerator compartment and snow accumulation in the freezer. Potential causes for such symptoms can include improper door alignment, damaged hinges, or worn door seals allowing warm air to enter.
Diagnosis and Findings
We checked the panel temperature against a digital thermometer reading, confirming they matched. We inspected door alignment and seal contact across all planes, finding them properly set. We checked sagging doors or deformed hinges, as alignment was correct. We found that both door gaskets were worn with multiple tears, letting warm air inside. Additionally, as part of our full diagnostics, we discovered a dirty condenser coil.
Repair Performed
We replaced both door gaskets. We also cleaned the condenser coil using a specialized rinse-free indoor cleaner as part of the technical area maintenance.
Verification and Outcome
Post-repair checks confirmed normal operation with no further snow or condensation buildup, and that no further work was needed.
