The problem
LE error code. Washer not working with water left in the tub.
The repair
Replaced faulty Hall sensor
The result
Full washer functionality restored
Customer Complaint and Possible Causes
The customer reported that the washing machine failed to operate and retained water inside the drum. On front-load washers, incomplete cycles and standing water could be caused by several factors, such as a clogged/broke drain pump, blockages in the drain hose, or motor feedback issues. In many cases, control boards log specific error codes like LE to indicate motor-related or rotation-sensing malfunctions.
Diagnosis and Findings
Initial suspicions regarding a failed drain pump were ruled out. Upon running the unit in diagnostic mode, an LE error code appeared. Although this error often appears during normal user operation, it did not show at the start of a standard cycle in this instance. Further technical checks determined that the Hall sensor was defective, preventing the motor from reading rotational speed and causing the cycle to abort prematurely.
Repair Performed
Because a replacement Hall sensor was available in our inventory, the repair was completed immediately on-site same-day. The technician accessed the motor assembly and successfully replaced the faulty Hall sensor to ensure proper speed detection and feedback for the drive system.
Verification and Outcome
Following the on-site component replacement, the LG washer was checked and normal operation was confirmed. The technician reported that appliance functionality was fully restored and the customer was satisfied with the completed service.
